Oct. 2, 1963 - ABC’s “Combat!” series, dramatizing the U.S. Army’s fight across Europe in World War II, has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement from Cyrus R. Vance, Secretary of the Army, for its “authenticity and outstanding contribution to public understanding of the United States Army.” Selig J. Seligman, executive producer and creator of “Combat!” and president of Selmur Productions, received the certificate from Undersecretary of the Army Stephen Ailes on behalf of Vance.
