Actor Brandon de Wilde To Wed

Dec. 13, 1963 - As a child of seven, Brandon de Wilde was a child star in Broadway’s “The Member of the Wedding.” Next Thursday, the former child actor will costar in a real wedding on Park Avenue as bridegroom to debutante Susan Margot Maw, 18. The two applied for their marriage license today at New York City Hall. Their marital intentions were announced last June. Brandon, now 21, is not at all perturbed about making a big splash on the New York social scene. “I think we’ve waited long enough,” he said last spring when announcing his impending marriage. “I met Susan almost three years ago.” Susan, a student at Bryn Mawr College in suburban Philadelphia, made her society debut Nov. 20 at the Debutante Ball in the Plaza Hotel. After the couple’s marriage in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Park Ave. and 50th Street, they will honeymoon in Greece and Egypt. In his last movie role in the film “Hud,” released this year, Brandon played an adolescent who had an unsuccessful romance. Now, in real life, he’s a success.
