Oct. 19, 1963 - Actress Hope Lange and producer Alan Pakula were married today in the Bel-Air home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Manulis, with numerous movie celebrities attending. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Harris H. Hirschberg of Temple Judea, and a champagne supper-reception followed. The bride’s sister, Mrs. Harry Boardman of New York, was matron of honor, and her brother, David, gave the bride away. Director Robert Mulligan was Pakula’s best man. Miss Lange, 28, is the former wife of actor Don Murray. It is the first marriage for Pakula, 35, who produced last year’s Oscar-winning film, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” The newlyweds will leave in about a week for location in Texas, where Pakula is a making a new film, “The Traveling Lady,” co-starring Steve McQueen and Lee Remick. Miss Lange, who won an Academy Award nomination for her performance in “Peyton Place” (1957), is between pictures.
