Dec. 28, 1961 - Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jacobs, parents of actress Piper Laurie (left), today announced her engagement to Joseph M. Morgenstern (right), drama reporter and critic for The New York Herald Tribune. A wedding is planned for Jan. 21 at Long Beach. Miss Laurie’s real name is Rosetta Jacobs. She has a lead role in the current film drama, “The Hustler,” with Paul Newman, George C. Scott, and Jackie Gleason.
