Attorney General’s Son, Christopher George Kennedy, Is Christened; JFK in Attendance

July 19, 1963 - Surrounded by nieces and nephews, President Kennedy watched proudly today as Richard Cardinal Cushing, the Archbishop of Boston, christened the new son of Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and Mrs. Ethel Kennedy. The President and his brother flew to Cape Cod from Washington in the late afternoon. They joined forces there with a host of relatives at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church for the christening of Christopher George Kennedy, the eighth child of Robert and Ethel Kennedy. Christopher George was born on July 4. After the christening, the President left the church for the Hyannis Port Country Club to play golf. His wife, Jacqueline, expecting their third child next month, accompanied him on the course in an electric golf cart.
