Apr. 27, 1963 - Hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 today is “I Will Follow Him,” a recording by Little Peggy March. Born Margaret Annemarie Battavio to an Italian-American family in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, March was discovered at age 13 singing at her cousin’s wedding and was introduced to record producers Hugo & Luigi. They gave her the nickname “Little Peggy March” for 3 reasons: No. 1, she was only 4-feet-10-inches tall; No. 2, the first recording she did with them was "Little Me”; and No. 3, her birthday was in March.
