Bodies of Three Slain G.I.s Shipped Home

Jan. 5, 1963 - The bodies of three American dead from the Battle of Ap Bac in South Vietnam were on their way home today. They were Captain Kenneth Good of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, killed while trying to rally a Vietnamese unit; Sergeant William Deal (pictured) of Mays Landings, N.J., and Spec. 4 Donald Braman of Radcliff, Kentucky, killed by Communist fire on U.S. helicopters. Two more Americans were wounded on a U.S. Army escort helicopter flight Friday about 55 miles northwest of Saigon. A single bullet ripped through the floor, and metal fragments hit the captain-pilot and a sergeant of the crew. Both returned to duty after treatment.
