Braves Trade Adcock to Indians

Nov. 27, 1962 - The Milwaukee Braves tonight traded first baseman Joe Adcock (pictured in 1956) and left-handed pitcher Jack Curtis to the Cleveland Indians for right-hander Frank Funk and outfielder Don Dillard. The 35-year-old Adcock had been with the Braves since 1954 after entering the majors with the Cincinnati Reds in 1950. Adcock was the first batter in the majors to hit a ball into the center field bleachers at the Polo Grounds and the only one to ever hit a ball over the left-field stands in Ebbets Field.
