Sept. 6, 1962 - The Studebaker Corporation, which got its start with covered wagons in 1852, has come up with a novel uncovered wagon for 1963. This modern station wagon features a sliding steel roof that retracts 40 inches from the rear to allow space for open cargo hauling. It will be the only wagon in the company’s automobile lineup and will be called the “Wagonaire.” It is a roomy all-purpose vehicle that can serve as a pick-up truck or a conventional family transport. Prices are expected to start at about $2,700.
