Cassius Clay: Doug Jones Will Fall in Four

Mar. 10, 1963 - Cassius Clay, the “Louisville Lip” who has said Doug Jones “must fall in six” in their non-title heavyweight fight Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, today cut his prediction to four rounds. Annoyed because he saw a picture of Jones holding a book-sized package entitled “The Rise and Fall of Cassius Clay,” the talkative Cassius made his new forecast. Reflecting the revived interest the colorful Clay has brought to the heavyweight division, hundreds of spectators jammed Bobby Gleason’s gym today to watch Clay work out.
