Cowboys Top Browns, 45-21

Dec. 3, 1962 - The running of Amos Marsh and Don Perkins and the passing of Don Meredith (pictured right with Eddie LeBaron) gave the Dallas Cowboys a 45-21 victory over the Cleveland Browns yesterday. Meredith completed 10 of 12 passes for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. Meredith threw 2-yard and 5-yard scoring passes to Frank Clarke and Lee Folkins, respectively, and LeBaron hit on a 12-yarder to Bill Howton. The Cowboys held Cleveland’s star fullback, Jimmy Brown, to only 29 yards rushing and no touchdowns. Their 45 points and 28 first downs were new club records for the Cowboys, who defeated the Browns for the first time since the Dallas club has been in the league.
