Aug. 23, 1962 - George Cukor (right), who will direct the film version of “My Fair Lady” for Warner Brothers, said that he should be ready to start rehearsals for the musical early in January, with shooting in June. The director is leaving for Europe this weekend to check London locations with the set designer and to confer with the star, Audrey Hepburn. The musical, he said, will be made in “standard” screen dimensions on a budget of about $10 million. This will be the fourth musical for the veteran director, who has made 46 films since 1930.
