Dodgers Destroy Kansas City in Exhibition Game as Drysdale Shines

Mar. 29, 1963 - Don Drysdale pitched 9 innings for the first time this spring and held Kansas City to 6 hits today as the Los Angeles Dodgers slammed 16 hits in scoring a 12-1 victory. Johnny Podres is the only other Dodger who has gone nine innings this spring. Willie Davis drove in four runs on a double, two singles, and a sacrifice fly. Dave Wickersham started for the Athletics and gave up 8 runs on 10 hits in 6 innings. The Dodgers’ victory squared their spring record at 10-10.
