Dodgers Move Into First Place with Extra-Inning Win over Colts

June 8, 1962 - A sacrifice fly by Willie Davis (pictured) scored fleet-footed Maury Wills with the winning run in the 13th inning today as the Los Angeles Dodgers moved into first place in the National League with a 4-3 victory over the Houston Colts. Wills walked to lead off the 13th and then stole second and third before Davis’s fly scored him. The stolen bases were the 31st and 32nd of the year for the Dodgers’ speedy shortstop.
