June 10, 1962 - The Los Angeles Dodgers scored 6 runs in the sixth inning today and won the second game of a doubleheader, 9-7, from the Houston Colts. The Dodgers also took the opener, 9-3, on Don Drysdale’s 6-hitter before 30,027 in Houston. The Dodgers thus increased their National League lead to two-and-one-half games. Joe Moeller had a 9-1 lead in the second game until Don Buddin hit a grand slam with two out in the sixth. Drysdale ran his record to 10-3 as Ron Fairly led a 17-hit attack. Fairly drove in four runs with two singles, a double, and a triple. Moeller was aided by Norm Sherry’s three-run homer in the sixth.
