June 1, 1962 - The onrushing Los Angeles Dodgers took both ends of a twilight-night doubleheader tonight from the Philadelphia Phillies, 11-4 and 8-5. The victories extended their winning streak to 13 games and moved them into a first-place tie with the San Francisco Giants. At the same time, the Dodgers matched their longest winning streak since 1953, when they played in Brooklyn. Don Drysdale (pictured) gained his eighth triumph against three losses in the finale. He helped his cause with a three-run double in the sixth off Dallas Green.
