Doris Day and Paul Newman Win Poll

Feb. 12, 1963 - Stars of two MGM pictures, “Jumbo” and “Sweet Bird of Youth,” have been voted honors in two separate polls. Doris Day, who stars in “Jumbo,” was voted No. 1 box-office star by the nation’s theater owners. Paul Newman (pictured), who starred with Geraldine Page in “Sweet Bird of Youth,” was voted best actor of 1962 by Exhibitor, a motion picture trade magazine.
