Apr. 24, 1962 - South Vietnamese troops, backed by American air support, killed 69 Communist guerrillas today in a running battle 34 miles southwest of Saigon, U.S. military sources said. Four companies of special Vietnamese rangers and infantry troops took part in the action. A normal infantry company in Vietnam varies from 100 to 130 men. No Government casualties were reported.
