Nov. 25, 1963 - Ernesto “Che” Guevara says that with the new Administration in Washington, Cuba would have to be “alert as always and perhaps more so” to repel any attack. Mr. Guevara, Cuban Minister of Industries, said at an electric power forum in Havana last night that the killing in Dallas of Lee Harvey Oswald “seems to have been taken from a gangster movie.” “Everything makes us think that very dark and shadowy forces are moving behind this,” Mr. Guevara said. “Everything makes us think that in months or years, the world’s peace will be endangered by the greatest monopolist and warring oligarchy, with more power of death than the history of humanity has ever known. We will have to build socialism, and we will build it despite everything, even in these circumstances 90 miles from the U.S., a center of imperial arrogance which unleashes insults and war actions against our country.”
