Mar. 20, 1963 - Vic Hadfield (left), who tallied only twice in 33 previous games, registered 3 goals tonight in carrying the New York Rangers to a 5-1 victory over the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden. Hadfield scored in every period in fashioning his hat trick. The rugged left wing whipped in his own rebound in the opening period, converted linemate Don McKenney’s goal-mouth pass in the middle session, and tallied again in the third from close range while standing with his back to the cage. He barely missed a fourth goal in the final minute when he broke in alone, only to be repulsed by Boston goalie Ed Johnston (center).
