Nov. 4, 1962 - Halfback Pat Studstill and Earl Morrall, playing for the first time this year at quarterback, led the Detroit Lions to a 12-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in an NFL game today. Los Angeles took a 3-0 lead early in the second half on an 18-yard field goal by Danny Villaneuva. Studstill broke the game open with punt returns of 33, 37, and 35 yards. His first return set up the Lions’ touchdown, which he scored on a 22-yard pass from Morrall in the third period. He also set up Wayne Walker’s 31-yard field goal with his 35-yard return.
