Nov. 8, 1962 - Lucille Ball replaced her former husband, Desi Arnaz, today as president of Desilu Productions, one of Hollywood’s major television production companies. An announcement said Miss Ball would purchase the 300,350 shares of Desilu stock owned by Mr. Arnaz “at a price considerably in excess of the current market price.” The company was set up in 1951 to produce “I Love Lucy,” which starred Miss Ball and Mr. Arnaz. The company owns a number of studios in the Los Angeles area and produces three television series — “The Lucille Ball Show,” “The Untouchables,” and “Fair Exchange.” Shows made at Desilu Studios by other companies are “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “Ben Casey,” “The Joey Bishop Show,” “My Three Sons,” and “The Andy Griffith Show.”
