Sept. 15, 1961 - Italian actress and fashion model Elsa Martinelli (left) recently completed a leading role with John Wayne in Howard Hawks' "Hatari" for Paramount. In 1953, Miss Martinelli was discovered by Roberto Capucci, who introduced her to the world of fashion. She became a model and began playing small roles in films. Her first important role came in 1955 with "The Indian Fighter" opposite Kirk Douglas. "Hatari," set for release in the spring, portrays a group of professional game catchers in Africa. The film includes dramatic wildlife chases and the scenic backdrop of Mount Meru, a dormant volcano.
