Aug. 5, 1961 - Twentieth Century-Fox is preparing to open the vaults - the old R.K.O. vaults, that is - for a remake of the 1940 comedy, "My Favorite Wife," which starred Irene Dunne and Cary Grant. George Cukor is being considered to direct, with Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe for the lead roles. The remake will be entitled "Something's Got to Give." In the original film, Miss Dunne played a woman who, after being shipwrecked on a tropical island for several years and declared legally dead, returns to her former husband (Grant). The screenplay was based on Alfred Lord Tennyson's 1864 poem, "Enoch Arden."
