Dec. 4, 1963 - All prints of “PT-109,” the Hollywood film based on President Kennedy’s Navy exploits during World War II, have been withdrawn by Warner Brothers in view of the President’s assassination, it was learned today. Cliff Robertson portrays Mr. Kennedy in the picture. It was understood that studio chief Jack Warner ordered the withdrawal immediately after the President’s death on the ground that it would be in bad taste to show the picture during a period of national mourning. Released about six months ago, “PT-109” normally would take 18 months to complete its playing cycle through 15,000 theaters.
