Dec. 5, 1963 - Opening today is “Charade,” a romantic comedy mystery produced and directed by Stanley Donen and starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. The cast also features Walter Matthau, James Coburn, George Kennedy, and Ned Glass. It was filmed on location in Paris and contains animated titles by Maurice Binder. Mr. Binder designed the titles for “Dr. No,” the James Bond film released in the U.S. earlier this year. Henry Mancini composed the soundtrack music for “Charade.” In the story, romance and suspense ensue in Paris as a woman (Hepburn) is pursued by several men who want a fortune her murdered husband had stolen. Is there anyone she can trust?
