Feb. 24, 1965 - Opening today is “Crack in the World,” a science fiction doomsday movie filmed in Spain starring Dana Andrews, Janette Scott, Kieron Moore, and Alexander Knox. Directed by Andrew Marton, the film is a Paramount Pictures release.
The film deals with scientists who launch a nuclear missile into the Earth’s crust to tap into the geothermal energy of the magma below. The blast accidentally unleashes cataclysmic destruction that threatens to sever the planet in two.
