Movies: “Days of Wine and Roses” with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick

Dec. 26, 1962 - Opening today is “Days of Wine and Roses,” a drama film directed by Blake Edwards with a screenplay by J.P. Miller adapted from his own 1958 “Playhouse 90” teleplay of the same name. In the cast are Jack Lemmon (pictured), Lee Remick, Charles Bickford, and Jack Klugman. The musical score is by Henry Mancini. The story deals with an alcoholic public relations executive (Lemmon) who marries a young woman (Remick) and systematically addicts her to alcohol so they can share his “passion” together.
