July 13, 1962 - Jack Warden has joined the cast of John Ford’s “Donovan’s Reef.” Filming of the adventure comedy began this month in Kauai, Hawaii, although the film is set in French Polynesia. The film’s stars are John Wayne and Lee Marvin (pictured), and the supporting cast includes Cesar Romero, Dick Foran, and Elizabeth Allen. “Guns” Donovan (Wayne) prefers carousing with his pals Doc Dedham (Warden) and “Boats” Gilhooley (Marvin), until Dedham's high-society daughter Amelia (Allen) shows up in their South Seas paradise.
