Movies: “Follow the Boys”

Feb. 27, 1963 - Opening today is “Follow the Boys,” an MGM comedy film starring Connie Francis, Paula Prentiss (left), Dany Robin (center), Ron Randell (right), and Janis Paige. Directed by Richard Thorpe and shot on the French and Italian Riviera, this is MGM's second film vehicle for Miss Francis following “Where the Boys Are” (1960). Bonnie (Francis), Toni (Prentiss), Michele (Dany Robin), and Liz (Paige) are on the Riviera to visit their husbands and boyfriends in the U.S. Navy. Bonnie tries to resume her canceled honeymoon, Liz wishes her newly promoted husband would settle down, Frenchwoman Michele wants Lieutenant Langley (Richard Long) to spend time with her, while Langley’s fiancée Toni takes an interest in Lieutenant Smith (Russ Tamblyn).
