Movies: Frank Capra's "Pocketful of Miracles"

Nov. 23, 1961 - “Pocketful of Miracles,” Frank Capra’s new film adaptation of Damon Runyon’s story “Madame La Gimp,” will be the next attraction at New York’s Victoria Theatre, after the current run of “Splendor in the Grass.” Bette Davis, Glenn Ford, Hope Lange, and Arthur O’Connell are in the United Artists release. A New York gangster (Ford) and his girlfriend (Lange) attempt to turn street beggar Apple Annie (Davis) into a society lady when the peddler learns her daughter is marrying royalty.
