July 14, 1963 - John Huston (pictured in Mexico) will direct the filming of Rudyard Kipling’s short story, “The Man Who Would Be King,” as part of a three-picture agreement with Seven Arts Productions. Mr. Huston, who has been planning to make the film for nearly 10 years, intends to shoot it in India next year. The story, about an adventurer who sets himself up as king in an Indian village, will be adapted by Mr. Huston with Anthony Veiller, an associate on Mr. Huston’s current film, “The List of Adrian Messenger.”
