July 1, 1963 - Polly Bergen has been selected to co-star with Fred MacMurray in “Kisses for My President,” a comedy film to be distributed by Warner Brothers. The comedy is scheduled to go before the cameras in mid-summer with Curtis Bernhardt as producer-director. When the women of America join together on election day and elect Leslie McCloud (Bergen) to the Presidency, things get a little awkward — especially for her husband, Thad McCloud (MacMurray). As “First Husband,” Thad must take over the job of the First Lady, dealing with women’s groups and garden parties. The picture’s supporting cast includes Eli Wallach as a Central American dictator, Arlene Dahl as Thad’s former flame, and Edward Andrews as a U.S. Senator.
