Mar. 6, 1964 - Opening today is “Kissin’ Cousins,” a musical comedy directed by Gene Nelson and starring Elvis Presley (pictured with Yvonne Craig). Written by Gerald Drayson Adams and Gene Nelson, the film features Presley playing two roles: an Air Force officer with dark hair and his lookalike hillbilly distant cousin with blond hair. In the story, the officer is tasked with negotiating the lease of mountaintop land owned by Pappy Tatum (Arthur O’Connell) in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee for use as an ICBM missile base.
