Mar. 11, 1963 - Lotte Lenya, the creepy contessa of “The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone,” will appear as another menace — Rosa Klebb, master schemer of SPECTRE, in “From Russia With Love,” the second Ian Fleming spy thriller. Others in the cast are Sean Connery as James Bond, Pedro Armendariz as Kerim Bey, and Robert Shaw as Grant, an underling of Klebb’s. In the story, James Bond willingly falls into an assassination plot involving a naive Russian beauty in order to retrieve a Soviet encryption device that was stolen by SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion).
