Movies: "Splendor in the Grass," with Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood to Open in October

Aug. 11, 1961 - Warner Brothers' "Splendor in the Grass," directed and produced by Elia Kazan (center), with Natalie Wood (right) and Warren Beatty (left) in the leading roles, has been scheduled to open in October at New York's Trans-Lux Theatre. The color drama marks the first original screenplay by William Inge, the playwright, who also has a role in the picture. Also featured are Pat Hingle, Audrey Christie, Barbara Loden and Zohra Lampert.
