Oct. 4, 1962 - Twentieth Century-Fox’s “The Longest Day,” Darryl F. Zanuck’s version of the Cornelius Ryan novel about the D-Day landings at Normandy, opened last night at New York’s Warner Theater. Proceeds went go to the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Many cast members were present, including Sal Mineo (pictured signing autographs outside the theater).
