Aug. 9, 1962 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy and her daughter, Caroline, in Ravello, Italy on a two-week southern Italian vacation, topped off a day of swimming and sunbathing with an unscheduled ride around Ravello’s main square tonight. Their appearance lasted less than a minute, but the uproar lasted an hour. The open automobile in which the President’s wife and daughter were riding was almost mobbed by 300 excited townspeople and visitors. Large posters plastered on the streets read: “Welcome Jacqueline” and “Good holidays.”
