Mrs. Kennedy and Her Sister Arrive in Rome

Mar. 10, 1962 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy and her sister, Princess Lee Radziwill, were received warmly today on their arrival in Rome on a cold and drizzly day. First at Rome’s International Airport and later in the streets of the city, thousands of persons cheered and applauded them. The wife of President Kennedy and her sister are in Rome on a 33-hour private visit before flying to India and Pakistan. They drove from the airport to Quirinal Palace, residence of the Italian President, where they were received by President Giovanni Gronchi and his wife, Donna Carla Gronchi. Tomorrow, Mrs. Kennedy will be received in a private audience by Pope John XXIII.
