Aug. 22, 1962 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy stopped to buy magazines and other reading material in Amalfi while on her way to the beach at Conca del Marini today and immediately drew a large crowd of Italian and foreign well-wishers. The President’s wife, smiling broadly and protected by U.S. and Italian agents, made her way back to her car for the short ride to the pier, where a motorboat waited and took her to a private beach house. Mrs. Kennedy made several successful runs on water skis before returning to Ravello. She and her daughter, Caroline, are spending a three-week vacation with her sister and brother-in-law, Prince and Princess Stanislas Radziwill.
