Aug. 6, 1962 - Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy arrived in New York today for a one-day visit before starting a two-week vacation in Italy. Mrs. Kennedy and her daughter Caroline are scheduled to depart from Idlewild Airport at 9:30 p.m. tonight for Rome. The President’s wife arrived at La Guardia Airport in the Kennedy family plane, the Caroline. Her daughter is scheduled to be brought today from Hyannis Port, Mass., by a nurse to meet her mother. John, the President’s infant son, will be taken to Newport, R.I., to spend the two weeks with his grandmother, Mrs. Hugh D. Auchincloss. Mrs. Kennedy and Caroline will stay at an 11th-century villa in Ravello, Italy.
