June 10, 1963 - On sale today is “The Patsy Cline Story,” a double compilation album consisting of the late country singer’s best-known songs of the past three years. On March 5 of this year, Miss Cline (pictured performing in Phoenix in 1960) was killed in a plane crash along with country performers Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and manager Randy Hughes — who piloted the aircraft — during a flight from Kansas City to Nashville. “The Patsy Cline Story” replaces Miss Cline's fourth studio album that was supposed to be released at the end of March, “Faded Love.” Due to her death, it was never released. “The Patsy Cline Story” includes two singles that were released posthumously, “Leavin’ on Your Mind” and “Sweet Dreams (Of You),” both of which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Chart.
