Mar. 10, 1963 - The Syracuse Nationals won their eighth straight game tonight and established a new team scoring record by walloping the San Francisco Warriors, 163-148, in NBA action. The total combined score was 5 points short of the record 316 by two teams set in 1962 when Philadelphia defeated New York, 169-147. Wilt Chamberlain (left with Hal Greer) set a league record during that game when he scored 100 points. Chamberlain also set a War Memorial Stadium record today in Syracuse as he scored 70 points on 27 of 38 field goal attempts and 16 of 22 foul shots.
