Apr. 19, 1963 - On sale today is Andy Williams’s eleventh studio long-playing record, “Days of Wine and Roses and Other TV Requests,” a Columbia release. The song “Days of Wine and Roses” is from the current movie of the same name starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick. The Academy Award-winning song was written by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, the same songwriting team that created the Oscar-winning “Moon River” for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The single from Mr. Williams’ album, “Can’t Get Used to Losing You,” made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on March 7. Its B-side was “Days of Wine and Roses.” Mr. Williams is host of the variety series, “The Andy Williams Show,” on NBC. The LP has a studio recording of the closing theme from the show, “May Each Day.”
