NHL: Blackhawks Down Rangers as Bobby Hull Scores on Birthday

Jan. 3, 1962 - Bobby Hull celebrated his 23rd birthday today with his 15th goal of the season as the Chicago Black Hawks beat the New York Rangers, 2-1. Hull’s goal helped the Hawks extend their unbeaten streak in the NHL to six games. Four ties are included in the string. Hull flipped in a rebound in the second period after a scoreless first. Stan Mikita got the other Chicago goal in the last period on a 50-foot drive. The Ranger goalie, Gump Worsley, stopped it with his hand but couldn’t hold it.
