Dec. 15, 1962 - The Houston Oilers routed the New York Titans, 44-10, today to clinch their third straight Eastern Division title in the American Football League. George Blanda (pictured), Billy Cannon, and Charlie Tolar sparked Houston to its 11th victory against 3 defeats. The victory earned the Oilers the right to meet the Dallas Texans for the league championship in Dallas on Dec. 23.
