Aug. 27, 1962 - Led by the champion Green Bay Packers (pictured at training camp last month), only 3 of the 14 teams in the NFL could boast unbeaten exhibition-game records today as the league headed into the final phase of the 1962 training program. The Packers trailed the Chicago Bears, 14-7, last night at halftime, but smashed over 4 touchdowns in the final 2 periods for a 35-21 victory at Milwaukee. The victory, sparked by Jim Taylor’s rushing that netted 2 touchdowns, was the 17th consecutive exhibition triumph for Green Bay. The Baltimore Colts, who also rallied in the second half, beat the Dallas Cowboys, 24-10, at Roanoke, Va. At Portland, Ore., the Cleveland Browns handed the San Francisco 49ers their first loss, 34-27. Baltimore and Cleveland now have 3-0 records.
