Aug. 10, 1962 - The Green Bay Packers routed the Dallas Cowboys, 31-7, today in an exhibition game between NFL teams before 54,500 fans at the Cotton Bowl. Paul Hornung, Jim Taylor, and most of the other Packer stars stayed on the bench most of the game. Bart Starr was in long enough at quarterback, however, to complete 11 of 14 passes for 164 yards and 1 touchdown. The Packers built a 17-0 lead before the Cowboys scored with 3 seconds left in the first half. The Packers added two 80-yard touchdown drives in the second half.
