Aug. 22, 1962 - Vito (Babe) Parilli (pictured) threw one touchdown pass and ran for another today to lead the Boston Patriots to a 17-10 victory over the New York Titans in an exhibition game between two American Football League teams. Parilli’s final score was made in the closing minutes of the fourth period. The benefit game drew a crowd of 11,118 in Lowell, Mass. Parilli, a former Kentucky all-American, played the entire game on offense. He threw a scoring 15-yard pass to Claude King in the opening period and capped a 96-yard final-period drive with a 1-yard dive into the end zone for the final score.#NFL #football #1960s #OTD #patriots #jets
