Oct. 11, 1963 - On sale today is Peter, Paul and Mary’s third long-playing record, “In the Wind.” Two singles from the album have already been released, both composed by Bob Dylan: “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” The group’s rendition of “Blowin’ in the Wind” sold a phenomenal 300,000 copies in the first week of the single’s release. A third Dylan composition, “Quit Your Low Down Ways,” appears on the album as well. The group, formed in New York City two years ago and currently riding a wave of popularity, is comprised of Peter Yarrow, Noel “Paul” Stookey, and Mary Travers. On August 28, the group performed "If I Had a Hammer" and “Blowin’ in the Wind” at the March on Washington.
